Welcome to Arvada, Colorado! I’m Carly, your local guide to our beautiful Denver suburb.
When my family and I moved from Denver to Arvada in 2018, I knew we had found a gem and our new home base for years to come. While many folks visiting and moving to Colorado are drawn to the downtown Denver metro, those who venture into the restaurants, parks, and paths of Arvada know living here is infinitely better than the city!
We were lucky to find a home blocks away from Olde Town Arvada within walking distance of two family-friendly parks in a pleasant and quiet neighborhood.
In the summer, we enjoy walking to Olde Town to grab an ice cream at Scrumptious and stopping by McIlvoy Park on our way home.
We travel frequently, so being a stone's throw away from the Olde Town Arvada Light Rail Station makes getting to and from Denver International Airport a breeze. And on the occasion we head into Denver to catch a game or show, we don't even need to worry about parking.
There is never a shortage of things to do in Arvada, from parks to community events, artists' shows and festivals, and a thriving restaurant scene across the city.
Visitors looking for day trips from Arvada will find plenty of opportunities to explore — and can even shave off a few minutes of drive time when heading west, as you can avoid downtown Denver traffic.
